The Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO), in conjunction with the USDA Agricultural Research Service; the Maryland Agricultural and Resource-Based Industry Development Corporation; the Maryland Department of Agriculture, Department of Natural Resources and Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development; the University of Maryland Extension; and the Rural Maryland Council, will hold an innovation forum to highlight current technologies and best practices in farming and aquaculture.
The March 15 forum will feature tracks on agri-business and oyster aquaculture. Secretary Buddy Hance of the Maryland Department of Agriculture will open the forum with remarks.
The event will bring together farmers, growers, watermen, agri-businesses and scientists to discuss issues facing the agriculture and aquaculture industries on the shore, and identify what additional inputs are required to adopt new solutions. In addition, funding organizations will present creative opportunities for implementing new technologies.
