For the second year in a row, the Chestertown Farmers’ Market was voted best in Maryland per the American Farmland Trust. Chestertown garnered 615 votes vs Bethesda’s 609, with West Frederick coming in a distant third at 277. Nationwide, Chestertown’s votes rank it 6th in the ‘small market’ category, (16 to 30 vendors). The City of Rockford Farmers’ Market in Michigan was voted number one small market with a whopping 6,083 votes. Something to strive for in 2012.
For those of you planning a beach visit in the near future, the Historic Lewes Farmers’ Market won overall in the medium market category. Open Saturdays, 9am to noon, September 10- October 29.
